No worries! I can help with that!

My name is Lisa Sheer and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM), and certified in the TummyTime! Method.

With over 25 years experience in the lactation field, I have also completed many hours in various skilled trainings including tongue-tie assessment, bottle feeding/refusal, and flange fitting/pumping guidance.

But that’s not my only identity. I am a mom, partner, friend, daughter, baker, hiker, gardener, hammock hanger, dog mom, plant mom, lover of music and movies, nature and travel … but the thing that drove me to start this business was my passion for helping families navigate their infant feeding journey!

I have always said that it is not my job to convince anyone to breastfeed or to breastfeed for a certain period of time, but to provide information for informed decisions. It breaks my heart to hear parents say, “I wish someone would’ve told me that!”. Non-judgmental education and support where we discuss all options and what to expect, is important to me. I like to chat with my clients, get to know you a bit, answer any questions, and ultimately support you in your personal goals.

My mission is to create a positive breastfeeding culture through education, advocacy, and support and to help families reach their personal feeding goals.

I provide prenatal breastfeeding education, lactation consultations, pumping assessments, flange fitting, bottle feeding/refusal guidance, and return to work consultations at offices in Farmington and Brunswick, Maine. I also offer home visits to families within a 1 hr drive of Livermore, Maine, and via telehealth to anywhere in the world.

What to expect

During a consult, I can:

  • Observe breastfeeding
  • Assess for good latch
  • Perform infant oral assessments
  • Provide pre/post feeding weights
  • Educate on pumping and fit for proper flange size
  • Evaluate common and not-so-common lactation issues
  • Make recommendations and referrals
  • Support your decisions
  • …and most importantly, listen.
